|Main focus:||After finishing his engineering studies in Spain and France, obtaining an MSc in materials engineering and also an MSc in mechanical engineering, Mr. Vilar worked during some years in several industrial companies in Germany and Spain.
From 2006 to 2008 he was in charge of a Rural Electrification Programme in Latin-America, in Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia with the NGO Engineering without Borders. Specifically in Peru, he was involved in the enforcement of a regional centre for renewable energies and energy policies for rural areas in the Andean Zone, the CEDECAP. He was involved in the identification, implementation and evaluation of several rural electrification projects based on different renewable energies.
From 2008 to 2010 he has been working in northern Mozambique, managing a program that provides basic services (energy, water, sanitation and communications) for rural health centres with the NGO Engineering without Borders.
Moreover, from 2005 to date, he has been involved in the preparation of curricula and training material for different on-site and on-line courses on electrification projects and energy policies targeting local and regional governments, universities, farmers and international consultants.
