International Conference on Sustainable Energy and Environmental Challenges (SEEC - 2017)

26.2. - 28.2.2017, Centre of Innovative and Applied Bioprocessing, Mohali, India

The conference is aimed to promote high-quality research in the broad areas of energy and environmental sustainability. Besides oral and poster presentations, the conference will conduct mini-symposia, invited and plenary speeches by eminent scientists from around the world. The list of tracks includes but not limited to: Biofuels, Combustion and Reactive Flows, Thermal and Nuclear Energy Systems, Alternate and Renewable Energy Systems and Advanced topics in Sustainable Energy
The conference, SEEC-2017, will be organized to promote research and outreach programme in India and abroad through scientific deliberations like keynote addresses, oral and poster presentations. The SEEC will bring together engineers, scientists, researchers, students, managers and other professionals in order to address and discuss emerging sustainable energy and environmental issues. It will provide platforms for physicist, mathematicians, chemists, engineers and biologist for critical discussion in key areas of energy and envi-ronmental sciences. Environmental sciences research should contrib-ute to understand the major problems in recent days arising due to extensive agriculture, industrial, municipal, transportation, urbaniza-tion activities together with climate change in developing countries. It is realized since last one decade that proper utilization of environ-mental waste is important for the analysis and product formation to provide food, feed, fuel, commercial items and health to increasing human population without impairment of biodiversity and sustaina-ble growth will be discussed.

BEST PRACTICE

Waste-to-Energy (WtE) facility

Renergia, a brand new Waste-to-Energy (WtE) facility opened in Canton Lucerne, shows that Waste-to-Energy can provide reliable heat for industries.

Category: Incineration / Waste-to-Energy plant
Executing firm: Renergia Zentralschweiz AG

MBT Ljubljana, Slovenia

In Slovenia arises one of the largest and most modern waste treatment plants in Europe.

Category: Recycling / MBT
Executing firm: STRABAG AG

Flue Gas Cleaning

The final unit of the incineration plant is one of the most important parts as it has the objective of cleaning the air pollutants produced.

Category: Incineration
Executing firm: ete.a - Ingenieurgesellschaft für Energie– und Umweltengineering & Beratung mbH

Batch Dry Fermentation

The biogas produced from the waste can be converted in a CHP to electrical and thermal energy or fed as processed bio-methane into the natural gas grid or used as fuel (CNG).

Category: Recycling / Fermentation
Executing firm: BEKON Energy Technologies Co. & KG

MBT Warsaw, Poland

The Bio-Dry™ system is a static, aerated and flexibly enclosed reactor for the biological drying of various solid waste matters containing some biodegradable contents.
