The ATZ Entwicklungszentrum, a WtERT Germany partner, celebrated its 20th anniversary during its annual symposium celebrated at the ATZ Headquarters in Sulzbach-Rosenberg, Germany. The event was organized by ATZ's Directors Prof. Dr.-Ing. Martin Faulstich and Dipl.-Ing. Gerold Dimaczek. More than 150 guests attended the event, among them were included district administrators Dr. Hans Wagner and Mr. Richard Reisinger, Sulzbach-Rosenberg's mayor Mr. Gerd Geismann, statesecretary Hans Spitzner and Mrs. Brigitta Brunner.
In 1989 in cooperation with the municipal government of Sulzbach-Rosenberg, the state governmet of Bavaria and local entrepreneurs like Klaus Conrad the development of the institute was prepared. On the 1st of January 1990 and with only 13 employees, ATZ began officially operating under the name ATZ-EVUS (Applikations- und Technikzentrum für Energieverfahrens-, Umwelt- und Strömungsmechanik).
In the year 2000 Prof. Faulstich took place as the director of the institute and with his vision and ideas transformed it into one of the most respected research instittutions in Europe. Today the ATZ team is composed of 40 employees.
